Kawartha Lakes Chapter

Who We Are

Muskies Canada Kawartha Lakes Chapter

We are the luckiest chapter of Muskies Canada. Lucky because we are the 13th Chapter to be operating in 2008. Situated in the heart of the Kawartha's, what better name to obtain than Kawartha Lakes.

Our main objective for starting in this area is for the concern of Northern Pike making their way into the Kawartha Lakes region. This is a large concern for all Muskie anglers that enjoy the quantity and quality Muskie fishery we have at the present time. Installation of Know the Difference (KTD) signs on concerned lakes will also be one of our projects to help educate anglers in the area lakes. We want to be the most informative Chapter of the "What's going on in the Kawartha's" so look at our web page often. Starting January 2009, there will be regular updates to our page. If you are interested in meeting new people, having a great time, participating in various meetings and outings, and above all, learning about these fantastic fish, then please contact any one of people below. We would enjoy having you as our guest at any one of our meetings.

There will be monthly reminders sent out via email, if you wish to be added to this list, please send your name and email address to Mike DeGrace

In turn, all the lures submitted towards the rod raffle, will be set up on the table where you in turn can purchase tickets at 3 for 5 dollars. • April 14, 2009 Jeff and Geoff demonstrate how to tie a bucktail and build Cowboy spinners.
  • March 10, 2009 Wow another meeting gone by. Just unreal on how many members and guests are showing up. I believe we had one more new guy join tonight. With 38 people filling the room, it was a unanimous decision to move to a new location. We are just waiting for confirmation of our new location before we advertise it. We will miss Rickys All Day Grille, it was a great facility, too bad we out grew it. I will be sure to post the new location here. Who ever would have thought standing room only at a Muskies Canada meeting???

Special thanks to Glen Hales from Castaway Flyfishing Guide service, awesome presentation of Muskie on the fly rod. I hope this has intrigued a few guys to give it a try. Thanks so much for your presentation.

We are one step closer to finalizing a chapter logo, hope to have it nailed down at our next meeting. The KTD sign project is coming along nicely. We hope to put in our first order of signs by next month. One hurdle we are working on is the approval from the municipalities to post the signs.

The prize table, well lets just say we need a bigger table too! Thanks to all of you who supported us to get this chapter up and running. I look forward to the day of helping out the next new Chapter! The rest of the meeting???, well we have to save some of it for the RJ.
