Who We Are

The primary purpose of our club is to promote "catch and release" and the conservation of the muskie fishery.

Our membership includes a broad range of experience from the novice angler to the veteran muskie hunter. We look forward to sharing this wide range of experience and knowledge with the new members. We also support projects with the Ministry of Natural Resources that promote the development of the muskie fishery.

Chapter meetings are held at 8:00 pm on the third Wednesday of each month. The location is at the Knights of Columbus hall at 145 Dearborn Place in Waterloo.

August 18, 2010Annual Summer Chapter BBQ and Meeting It's here again ! THE FAMOUS K-W BBQ & SOCIAL
All MCI members welcome.
Start time is 7pm Wednesday August 18th at the K of C Hall in Waterloo.

He is an Marine Electronic Expert and will be speaking about the NEW LOWRANCE HDS Units.
Also Bring Your LOWRANCE & HUMMINGBIRD Fishfinders in and have all new updates downloaded by Joclyn. He'll also give you pointers how to optimize your units performance.

February 17, 2010 Our February meeting promises to be an interesting one with Keith Davison on hand to give a talk about that great muskie fishery, Lake of the Woods. Should be very informative and timely as well, as rumour has it that a number of lucky anglers from Muskies Canada have a trip planned there for this fall.

As well, there will be the usual great prize table.
January 20, 2010 Our Guest Speaker this month is Mr.Chuck Boyd!

Social at 7:30pm & Half-time....Meeting Starts @ 8:00pm

Chuck will be speaking on "Tactics When Things Get Tough" *[not to be missed]. We will also have a great raffle prize table !
To add to an already great meeting.....our own Davin Heinbuck (National Research Director of Muskies Canada Inc.) will be presenting us with with Details of the Release Log Program of 2009 and will be giving out the Release Log Awards.
This is shaping up to be a great night.....
Plan to attend and bring a guest too !

November 18, 2009Guest Speaker Andy Pappas will be speaking about the Pickerel River. Andy has spent many years on the Pickerel River and surrounding lakes and will give us an overview of this great body of water.

June 17, 2009Guest Speaker Daniel Sturges CEO BACKWOODS Premium Rods, www.backwoodrods.com. Daniel will be giving a 1 hour comprehensive description of the handcrafting process of BACKWOODS Premium quality fishing rods. Backwoods Premium Rods is currently Canada's only Rod Producer.

Catering to serious multi-species Canadian anglers who demand the best! The main focus of his presentation will be on their Warlock Musky Rod Collection. Followed by a question period and the chance to feel and compare the quality found in every rod.

Those who are attending the Muskie Odyssey on April 25th, 2009 will be able to visit Daniel at the Backwoods Premium Rods booth.

May 20, 2009Jef Christensen will be giving a seminar on building custom bucktails, and spinnerbaits.
April 15, 2009Warren Yerex of the Grand River Conservation Authority will be speaking about the Fisheries Management Plan and specifically about muskellunge and implementation possibilities in the Grand River Watershed ie Nith River.
